Acting

Barry has performed in dozens of plays in theatres across the country. Favorite roles include Khwaja in Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul at Horizon Theatre in Atlanta, Ned in Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart as a Guest Artist at San Diego State University, Dromio of Ephesus in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at the Florida Shakespeare Festival in Miami, Louis in Angels in America at Arkansas Rep in Little Rock, and Ernesto in Richard Thompson's Principia Scriptoriae at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. He has performed a Beckett one-act in a coffee shop: portrayed Thomas Becket in Murder in the Cathedral in a cathedral; played in Suzan Lori Parks' 365 Plays/365 Days in French at an International Farmers' Market; and served as Artistic Director for three seasons of the San Diego Actors' Festival. He studied with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, with Michael Moriarty in private classes, and with Jack O'Brien and Richard Easton at the Old Globe in San Diego. Barry is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.

On television, Barry appeared on One Life to Live and The Dr. Ruth Show, and was seen for years as the foiled car thief in the ubiquitous Viper Car Alarm commercial. Barry co-starred in the independent short film Insanity du Jour (Mayan Moon Productions, 2007), which can be viewed online at insanitydujour.com.

Barry is on the Faculty of the Acting School at the Alliance Theatre, teaching classes for both adults and children.
