Barry has performed in dozens of plays in theatres across the country. Favorite roles include Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof  with Company J in Atlanta, Khwaja in Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul at Horizon Theatre in Atlanta, Ned in Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart as a Guest Artist at San Diego State University, Dromio of Ephesus in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at the Florida Shakespeare Festival in Miami, Louis in Angels in America at Arkansas Rep in Little Rock, the Prince of Morocco in The Merchant of Venice at Atlanta's Shakespeare Tavern, and Ernesto in Richard Thompson's Principia Scriptoriae at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. He was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award for his portrayal of Victor Lansky in the World Premiere of The Green Book at Atlanta's Theatrical Outfit.  He has performed a Beckett one-act in a coffee shop: portrayed Thomas Becket in Murder in the Cathedral in a cathedral; played in Suzan Lori Parks' 365 Plays/365 Days in French and English at an International Farmers' Market; juggled ten roles in Greater Tuna in summer stock in central Pennsylvania; and served as Artistic Director for three seasons of the San Diego Actors' Festival. He studied with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, with Michael Moriarty in private classes, and with Jack O'Brien and Richard Easton at the Old Globe in San Diego. Barry is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.

On television, Barry appeared on One Life to Live and The Dr. Ruth Show, and was seen for years as the foiled car thief in the ubiquitous Viper Car Alarm commercial. Barry co-starred in the independent short film Insanity du Jour (Mayan Moon Productions, 2007, with Sheri Mann Stewart), which can be viewed online at insanitydujour.com.

Barry is on the Faculty of the Acting School
at the Alliance Theatre, teaching classes for both adults and children, and is available for private coaching.
